Benafim

The church has a small clock tower and at the rear of the church are hand painted tiles of Christ on the cross, dating from the 18th century.
The whole feel of Benafim is a true representation of how the Portuguese live. Many narrow cobblestone streets have not changed for decades.

Alte Village

The next place on the road after Benafim is Alte, a showcase Algarvian village. An idyllic spot for relaxation and entertainment. There are many small cafés and good restaurants for your perusal.

If you enjoy walking there are many picturesque trails around the village. You can walk from Benafim Pequeno to Alte, about 4km, along a meandering hill road passing the beautiful Fonte Grande and Fonte Pequeno.

Albufeira

The party centre of the area! Although there are many lovely beaches and myriad cafés and restaurants to sample, the main action is during the evening and early morning.
The Strip, located near the Praia da Oura, is renown for its nightlife where discos, pubs and bars stay open till early morning.
